Niagara athletes set the bar highNIAGARA FALLS - The boys from Ridgeway-Crystal Beach High School were flying high in St. Catharines. It was a clean sweep for the midgets and juniors in the pole vault event as they jumped at the chance of heading to the Ontario Federation of School Athletics Association (OFSAA) track and field championships being held in Brockville next weekend. Eight boys – including three girls on the school’s pole vaulting team – advanced, but all eyes were on Grade 9 student Joel Mueller, who just last week set a Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association record by vaulting to a height of 3.65 metres, nine centimetres over the old record.
